Instant Pot Ground Beef

Instant Pot Ground Beef
I kept hearing about how people would brown ground beef in the Instant Pot. I thought they meant they were sauteing it. But then I found out that they were using the pressure setting. And to be honest it grossed me out. I thought it would turn out like steamed hamburger and be gray and soft.
But I decided to try it anyway. And to my surprise, turned out amazing. It had great texture, perfect brown color, and it tastes just like I browned it in a frying pan.
Do not cook more than 2 lbs of meat in a 6 qt Pot or 4 lbs in an 8 qt Pot.

Instant Pot Ground Beef
Ingredients
- 1-2 lbs ground beef
- 1 C water
Instructions
Put 1 C water in Instant Pot. Put trivet in pot.
Place 1-2 lbs of ground beef on trivet.

Set to Manual high pressure and cook for 20 minutes.
Let it release naturally.
Once it’s done, remove from pot. Fair warning – it will look gross!

Break up ground beef. I use my Kitchenaid mixer and it worked great. I added onion salt before I mixed it up since we like the added flavor.

Divide up ground beef into freezer bags and lay flat to freeze.
